The End of the Story

The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways. Deut. 28:7

How many of you would agree that it would be a lot easier to face a battle if you already knew the outcome. A job interview would be infinitely less stressful if you knew that you were guaranteed the position and compensation you desired. Watching your child struggle would be less painful if you knew with certainty that they were going to succeed. How about your bills? Wouldn’t it be easier if you knew that you would always have enough to cover your needs?

That is exactly what God has done for you in His word. From Genesis to Revelation, He has unveiled His promises for you, and told you the end of the story. You win. With the promise He equips you to face your challenges, giving you the keys and provision you need to step into the glory where His victory dwells.

For example, one of the words the Lord gave us last year was, “the good news is the bad news was wrong.” It was a “now word” revelation of the ancient promise He made to the children of Israel: When your enemies rise against you, they will have to flee in seven ways. What many people fail to notice is that God never said, “You will never face enemies.” He never said, “You will never receive bad news.” Instead, He said, when your enemy rises against you, you’re going to get the victory. The now word the Lord gave us was right before several people who were near and dear to us received some really bad news. His promise gave us the assurance that He was there ahead of us in the battle, and it provided us with His strategy to position us for His victory.

So when bad news, enemies, or disaster try to come against you or your family, counter the attack with the promises of God. Bring the Name of Jesus and His covenant blessings to the battle lines. Scripture never guarantees a life of ease. But God does say, “Here’s what I will do for you. This is My promise, and you can bank on it.” For you to grow and take new territory, there will be some battles. But if you stand in faith, you will connect with the living God and out of His presence. When you connect with the glory, it will cause your enemies to scatter.

Deuteronomy 28 is one of our favorite reference points for living in the glory of God’s victory. It unfolds line by line the blessings God has for you because of the covenant Jesus cut for you with His blood. What battle are you facing today? What challenges have you concerned? Read God’s field manual for your challenge and receive God’s end to your story.
